Beliefs & Values
At Northern Beaches Anglicans we believe that the God who created the world and everything in it has a great purpose for his world. This purpose is to bring everything under the Lordship of Jesus. We are committed to being part of this great purpose by living out these biblical values as best we can with the help of our God
Proclaiming the gospel
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:19-20
Living in the light of the Lord’s return
But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
Mark 13:32-33
Loving as we are commanded
Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’
Matthew 22:37-39
Honouring Christ by living in obedience to the Bible as the inspired word of God and our authority in all matters of faith and practice
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
Praying as an expression of our total dependence on God
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6
Worshipping God at all times and with all of our lives
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
Romans 12:1
Meeting together to encourage one another to grow in Christ as we serve Jesus in anticipation of his return
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:24-25
Giving generously that God’s work may not be hindered in any way
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
